Editor's Bio

Diana Clarke is an Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis graduate with a Liberal Arts degree concentration in science and math. She also graduated from City College of San Francisco with a Liberal Arts degree concentration in natural science. She is a California adult educator and an award winning poet, who has earned a post-graduate certificate in online teaching and has done graduate work in special education, including the study of Attention Deficit Disorder. She has also completed epidemiology courses offered through the Centers for Disease Control. She completed training in Standard Days Method (natural birth control), Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies; and Preconception Care, School of Public Health, Univeristy of New York at Albany.

grandview park She has taught students, including learning disabled and gifted students from elementary through college level. Subjects she has taught include computer applications, English, English as a Second Language, and science. She has taught professional writing to students in Silicon Valley and was an English, ESL and science tutor.

She has also served as the college test facilitation coordinator at De Anza College in Cupertino, CA.

Honors and Awards

Her video "The Story of Sutro Baths" is part of the Sutro Library collection.

She won the 2001 Talba Wallis Poetry Competition, and in January 2003, she and Susan Schulter, professor of English at West Valley College, judged the 2002 Talba Wallis Poetry Competition.

During October and November 2005, her Blueprint art was on display at Citrus Heights City Hall.

Her work has appeared in publications, including the San Jose Mercury News, Listen Magazine, a high school drug education magazine; and The World Of English (Beijing, China), an English as a Second Language journal.

While she was a contributing editor for the Cupertino Courier, she wrote several cover stories.
